Dear Henderson,
Gent has asked me to write to you about
some recent telegrams from Tokyo regarding British
shipping and the extent of the Japanese right of
(36) (37) search. The telegrams in question are Nos.456, 457, (414) (47)
(46)
(39 A)
471, 491 and 492 from Tokyo and your telegram No.345
to Tokyo.
These telegrams have been repeated to
Nanking and to the Commander in Chief, and it seems
to us that it would be useful if they could be
repeated to Hong Kong and Singapore also, as both are
directly concerned. We propose, if you have no
objection, to repeat the telegrams I have already
mentioned to both places but it would be more
convenient, and save time, if you could arrange for
similar telegrams in future to be repeated direct to
J.T. HENDERSON, ESQ.
